Are you ready for a sweet, juicy return? The Mattituck Lions Club World Strawberry Shortcake Eating Championship is back, so mark your calendars for Saturday, June 17th, 2023.
This year marks the 6th time Major League Eating has sanctioned this mouth-watering event. Though we are still waiting for our list of brave competitors, it’s no secret that our reigning champion, Geoff Esper, has set his eyes on a historic third win. Will he be the first to achieve such a feat? Or will someone else rise to the challenge and claim the glory?
The winner walks away with their share of a whopping $3,500 prize purse, not to mention the bragging rights that come with being the Strawberry Shortcake Champion!
But there's more to this day than the eating championship. Explore the festival and indulge in all things strawberry – from chocolate-dipped strawberries to rest tents with live music. Experience the thrill of midway rides and savor foods from around the globe. Cheer on the crowning of the new Strawberry Queen and don't forget to check out the arts and crafts vendors. The day isn’t over when the sun sets, so bring your lawn chairs to enjoy the fireworks in the evening.
