As is tradition, the event will take place before the Big Ten Football Championship game. It will showcase the majestic World-Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail—a delicious meeting of peerless seafood and St. Elmo’s signature spicy, horseradish-forward cocktail sauce. It is the best.
At the 2018 Championship, Joey Chestnut—the #1-ranked eater in the world, like you don’t know—set a Shrimp Cocktail-eating World Record by consuming 18lbs, 9.6oz of World-Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail in just eight minutes. He remains undefeated at the event since its inception and is set to defend his title again this year. At last year’s championship, he ate 17lb 1.6oz. Geoff Esper (14lb 4.8oz) came second; Miki Sudo (11lb) finished third. Others ate less but everyone had a great time.
