Imagine being anywhere else in the country other than Miami Beach, FL, during Art Basel. To do so is impossible—imagine the social ridicule! So too not being in Buffalo, NY, over Labor Day weekend, for the annual U.S. National Buffalo Wing Eating Championship at the National Buffalo Wing Festival. Major League Eating will join the Wing King himself, Mr Drew Cerza, in the spiritual home of recreational and competitive chicken wing eating. We pity those who will not be in attendance. Major League Eaters are warmly encouraged to sign up for a chance to compete in this legendary event.
At last year's event, the great Miki Sudo ate 246 wings in 12 mins for the win, edging the great Joey Chestnut by just two wings. Geoff Esper, also great, and Nick Wehry, great too, tied for third with 220. Gideon Oji, great, ate 192. Others ate less but they did so with spirit, grace and pride.
Do you dare challenge the greatest wing eaters in the world? Do you have what it takes to cover yourself in Buffalo Wing-scented glory? Do you want to find out for yourself why Buffalo, NY, is, without doubt, one of the greatest cities in the world? At the table or in the crowd, this is the U.S. National Buffalo Wing Eating Championship. Don't you ever miss it!
