Attention, world! Major League Eating is enormously proud to announce our thundering return to Indianapolis, IN, for the eighth annual installment of The World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship – At The Tail Greater Party On Georgia Street. Major League Eaters are warmly encouraged to sign up for the chance to compete in this legendary event.

As is tradition, the event will take place before the Big Ten Football Championship game. It will highlight the wonder that is the World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail—a delicious meeting of peerless seafood and St. Elmo’s signature spicy, horseradish-forward cocktail sauce. Those who have not tried the dish in a recreational, civilian sitting have simply not lived. Which sounds very judgey but so be it.

At the 2018 Championship, Joey Chestnut—the #1-ranked eater in the world—set a Shrimp Cocktail-eating World Record by consuming 18lbs, 9.6oz of World Famous St Elmo Shrimp Cocktail in just eight minutes. He remains undefeated at the event since its inception and is set to defend his title again this year.

Do you wish to challenge the great Chestnut? Do you dare challenge the greatest eaters in the world? Do you simply want to watch the best in the business do what they do so well? This is The World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship – At The Tail Greater Party On Georgia Street! At the table or in the crowd—don't you ever miss it!
