Major League Eating is proud to announce the return of the National Sweet Corn Eating Championship to our 2020 season of sanctioned eating championships. As is tradition, the contest will be held at the Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairground as part of the Sweet Corn Fiesta celebration of all things corn-based and good. This year marks the Fiesta’s 20th anniversary. Major League Eaters from near and far are warmly encouraged to sign up for their chance to test themselves against ear of Florida sweet corn after ear of Florida sweet corn over 12 minutes of arduous competition.

At last year’s event, the great Gideon Oji of Zaria, Nigeria, ate 57 ears of Florida sweet corn in 12 minutes to claim the title. Darron Breeden would finish second with 43, while Nick Wehry came third with 35.5. At this year’s event, Carmen Cincotti’s world record of 61.75 ears in 12 minutes will be on the line.

Who will be named king or queen of corn this year? Will you break Cincotti’s world record? Will you finish seventh, neither doing well nor poorly? Do you simply want to watch the best corn eaters in the world do what they do so well? This is the 2020 National Sweet Corn Eating Championship—at the table or in the crowd, don’t you ever miss it!

About The South Florida Sweet Corn Fiesta The 20th-Annual South Florida Sweet Corn Fiesta is presented by the Western Palm Beach Farm Bureau, is buttered with a family festival of children’s games, music, a national eating competition and, oh yes, mouth-watering and locally grown sweet corn.
