Good news! Major League Eating is proud to announce our return to Indianapolis, IN, for the seventh annual installment of the World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail Eating Championship–At The Meijer Tailgate Party on Georgia Street. Major League Eaters are warmly encouraged to sign up for the chance to compete.

As is tradition, the event will take place before the Big 10 Football Championship game. It will showcase the majesty that is the World Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail—a delicious meeting of peerless seafood and St. Elmo’s signature spicy, horseradish-forward cocktail sauce. It is equal parts challenging and delicious for the uninitiated. Actually, scratch that—it’s more delicious than anything else.

At last year's Championship, Joey Chestnut—the #1-ranked eater in the world—set a new Shrimp Cocktail-eating World Record by consuming 18lbs, 9.6oz of World Famous St Elmo Shrimp Cocktail in just eight minutes. He remains undefeated at the event and is set to return to Indianapolis to defend his title and pride.
