Major League Eating will return to the proud city of Owensboro for the third annual installment of the Owensboro International Bar-B-Q Festival World Mutton Sandwich-Eating Championship. Those brave and proud enough to test themselves against a delicious mountain of mutton—and against the best eaters in the world—are warmly encouraged to sign up for the chance to compete.
At last year’s event, Joey Chestnut, the #1-ranked eater in the world, ate 81 quarter-pound chopped mutton sliders to set a new world record in the discipline. Chestnut is undefeated in the event and is expected to return to Owensboro to defend his mutton crown.
Do you dare challenge Chestnut in an event he has straight up owned since its inception? Do you need an answer to the question, “I wonder how many quarter-pound mutton sandwiches I could eat in 10 minutes?” Do you simply want to watch the best eaters in the world take down food with power and precision?
