ESPER CONTINUES PIZZA DOMINANCE!
He is Esper and he is a pizza-eating machine. The man from Oxford, MA, ate 19.25 9-inch personal pizzas in 10 minutes to claim the inaugural Vaughan Pizza Fest International Pizza-Eating Championship. In doing so, he set a World Record in the 9-inch Personal Pizza discipline.
As is his method, Esper was composed, compact, powerful and purposeful for the duration of the event. He separated himself from his nearest rival—one Joey Chestnut, who would finish in second with 17 pies—at the seven-minute mark and never looked back. Gideon Oji muscled his way to third with 11. Others ate less but with no less effort or passion on their part. Some people can eat more is all.
Contestants one through 11 would all remark after the event upon the quality and deliciousness of the pizzas served at the event. Many thanks to the Woodbridge, Ontario, location of Pie: Wood Fired Pizza Joint for doing what they do so well.
Thank you, Vaughan. Thank you, Ontario. Thank you, Canada.
