MLE Expands Global Footprint with CP Biggest Eater Competition

Major League Eating will be touring Asia and the South Pacific with CP Foods this fall and winter for a five-event circuit as part of the CP Biggest Eater Competition 2011-2012. CP Foods Shrimp Wontons will be featured in the competitions that will pit top-ranked Major League Eaters against each other while also crowning local amateur champions at each location.
Major League Eaters participating include #1-ranked Joey Chestnut, Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti, "Eater X" Tim Janus, Sonya "the Black Widow" Thomas, Erik "the Red" Denmark, Juliet Lee and Crazy Legs Conti.
Dates and locations for the CP Biggest Eater Competition are as follows:
Singapore - Oct. 22, 2011 (featuring Pat, Sonya and Crazy Legs)
Melbourne - Nov. 19, 2011 (featuring Joey, Eater X and Juliet)
Hong Kong - Nov. 27, 2011 (featuring Joey, Erik the Red and Juliet)
Bangkok - Feb. 4, 2012 (featuring Erik the Red and Crazy Legs)
Bangkok - Feb. 11, 2012 (Grand Finale featuring Joey, Pat, Eater X, Sonya and Juliet)
About CP Biggest Eater Competition Launched in 2010 to much fanfare and resounding success in Singapore, the inaugural CP Biggest Eater Competition attracted close to 400 participants and more than 1,000 spectators in the finale where Ng Chin Sheng (with 115 CP Shrimp Wontons) and Koh Yeow Thien (with 70 CP Shrimp Wontons) were crowned the male and female CP Biggest Eater respectively. The intense atmosphere was pushed to feverish heights when world professional eaters Joey Chestnut, Takeru Kobayashi and Juliet Lee showcased their astounding eating skills amidst roaring cheers from the massive crowd. In the end, Joey Chestnut narrowly edged out Takeru Kobayashi to set a new record of 380 shrimp wontons eaten in eight minutes.
