Nathan's Qualifier Takes Place in China

Nathan's Famous held its first-ever qualifying contest in Beijing, China on Saturday, June 18th. Earning the title of Chinese National Hot Dog Eating Champion was Yat Ming Lam with 16 HDBs. Lv Mingkui took second place with 13 HDBs and Wang Ranlong finished in third with 12. A contingent of Chinese eaters will travel to New York on July 4th to compete at Coney Island.

#1-ranked Joey Chestnut was at the event serving as a special guest judge. After the contest, Joey ate 39 hot dogs and buns in a 5-minute exhibition event.

The event coincided with the opening of Beijing's third Nathan's Famous location.
