World Tamale Eating Championship returns to Lewisville

Major League Eating will return to Old Town Lewisville, Texas and its 2010 Western Days Festival for the 6th Annual World Tamale Eating Championship on Saturday, September 25th. The event will feature $3,500 in cash prizes along with the esteemed title of Tamale Eating Champion of the World.
In 2009, Juliet Lee flew into Lewisville and left with the title after eating 48 tamales in 12 minutes. Texas native "Nasty" Nathan Biller, who finished just 6 tamales behind Juliet in '09, will look for redemption in his home state on the 25th.
The payouts for this event are: 1st-$1,500, 2nd-$1,000, 3rd-$500, 4th-$250, 5th-$150, 6th-$100.
This contest will take place at 1:15pm CST from the Western Day Community Stage (Corner of Mill St. and Church St.) in Old Town Lewisville, Lewisville, TX 75057. The tamales will be provided by Dallas Tortilla & Tamale Factory.
Registration will open on IFOCE.com at 12:00pm EST on Wednesday, August 11th.
