Chestnut takes Philly CheeseSteaks @ Dorney Park

MLE's Philly-based eaters, including newly appointed #2-ranked Bob Shoudt, tried their best to keep the CheeseSteak title in it's home state...Instead, top-ranked Joey Chestnut flew in from San Jose and ate 19 Subway Philly CheeseSteaks in 10 minutes to win the title and $1,500 first-place prize. The Center Stage crowd at Dorney Park was standing room only as the park celebrated it's 126th Opening Day with Major League Eating and the World Philly CheeseSteak Eating Championship.

In a field chalk full of ranked Major League Eaters, Chestnut avenged a recent loss to Shoudt who ate 16 cheesesteaks for second place. Eater X was close behind with 14.5 and Juliet Lee consumed 12.5 to take third and fourth place, respectively.

Steakbellie, who after the contest ran a 7.5 mile endurance race, found time pre-contest to release a few Manitoba Meatsweats shirts to the crowd. Flash Gordon and Wing Kong also used the contest to prepare for their 10 mile Broad Street Run the next day.
