B.O.B. moves to #2; Monson cracks top-10 in new world rankings
04-30-2010
Major League Eating has released updated World Rankings and with it comes some jockeying at the top. While Joey Chestnut retained the top spot, the "Notorious B.O.B." Bob Shoudt jumped over Kobayashi for the #2 position. Shoudt's active competition schedule along with his top finishes clearly played a factor in his move to #2. Kobayashi now sits at the #3 position with Pat Bertoletti closely behind in the fourth spot.
Ben Monson moved up 17 spots to the #7 position to crack the top-10 just a handful of months into his MLE career. Monson, who has finishes over Chestnut and Bertoletti, will be in Las Vegas on May 6 for the first Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Qualifier.
Adrian Morgan, the rookie out of Baton Rouge, debuts at #18 after impressive finishes over many ranked competitors already in 2010. Other notable changes include Jammin' Joe LaRue moving up 9 spots to #29 after his impressive Sweet Corn victory.
