Kobayashi moves to #2 in the world after KSO win, while talented newcomers break into Top-50

Major League Eating updated its rankings today (Oct. 1) shuffling eaters from top to bottom after a September that boasted nineteen events. Takeru Kobayashi jumped one spot to #2 after a decisive victory in the Krystal Square Off VI. Though impressive, the win was not enough to take over Joey Chestnut's #1 world ranking.
The Notorious B.O.B. Shoudt moved into a tie with Pat Bertoletti at the #3 spot after an impressive run of four consecutive wins. Sonya Thomas also cracked the top-5 with a three victories of her own in early September.
A host of impressive newcomers, including Ben Monson (#24), made their debuts in the top-50 world rankings with limited time on the MLE Circuit.
