KSO VI Road Report: San Antonio

Sonya Thomas made a definitive return to the Krystal Square Off circuit today when she posted a personal best 64 Krystal points (5 Big Angus/39 Krystals) at Six Flags Fiesta in San Antonio. The Black Widow was able to stave off a late charge by Erik the Red (55 pts: 5 Big Angus/30 Krystals) who saved his fifth Big Angus for the final minute in an attempt to close the gap. Although he couldn't catch Thomas, Denmark's 55 pts are good for the WildCard lead in the young KSO VI Circuit. Local 2-min qualifier Homer Flores finished in third place with 32 pts. TJ Henderson and Nick "The Gorging Goblin" Bauer tied for fourth place with 31 pts.

The next qualifier for Krystal Square Off VI takes place in Jacksonville on Labor Day – Monday, Sept. 7, where hometown hero and professional eater Hall “Hoover” Hunt will compete for a seat at the final table in Chattanooga on Sept. 27.
