La Costena Spicing up "Feel The Heat" Challenge

In recognition of speed-eating jalapenos being among the most grueling events on the Major League Eating Circuit, La Costena has sweetened the reward for being a champion of its fiery competition. La Costena has added $800 to the total prize purse increasing it to $5,800 in 2009. And best of all, each top finisher will feel the effects as the amounts awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishers will all see a bump of $200 from last year’s prizes. Cash awards are now an impressive $2,700, $1,700, $950 and $450 for the 1st through 4th place finishers...

So circle the date now for the third annual La Costena “Feel The Heat” Jalapeno Eating Championship Challenge taking place on Sunday, September 13th in Chicago.
