Asparagus Time

Not surprisingly, the IFOCE has received a slew of requests (up to eight a day, and that is from only one eater) for the time of the deep-fried asparagus-eating contest on April 24. With the event only two months away it is important to pinpoint the exact time of the contest.

The 19th annual Stockton Asparagus Festival, held in Stockton, CA, will host the deep-fried asparagus-eating contest on April 24, 2004 at 11 AM. For those eaters already planning their meals around this event, please note that it will occur on Pacific Time.

Registration for the 12-minute, all-you-can-eat contest, which will determine the world asparagus-eating champion, will be managed by the IFOCE. For applications or further information, please email asparagus@ifoce.com. The festival itself is not managing the event and will not have further information.
