MLEgives: Boston

06-02-2008

On June 1st, Major League Eating and Nathan's Famous held an event at the 19th annual Hot Dog Safari in Boston. The event, which raises money for the fight against cystic fibrosis, drew 40,000 hot dog fans to Suffolk Downs in East Boston, MA. Kevin Faulk, a member of the three-time world champion New England Patriots, served as Grand Marshall.

Crazy Legs faced off against three teams, couples from various parts of Massachusetts including Wilmington, Ludlow and Woburn. Crazy Legs, who grew up in the Boston suburb of Belmont, beat all the couples with 20 Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs and Buns in 10 minutes. The closest couple to Conti ate a combined 13 Nathan's Famous.

Pretty Boy Pete Davekos was positioned in the spray zone and judged the event. Eddie Andelman and Steve Sweeney helped with the call, which aired live on Boston's 1510 The Zone. This was an official MLEgives event. For information on how you can help with the fight against cystic fibrosis visit http://joeyfund.org/
