Janus Eats a Football

Eater X consumed 14.3 ounces of fried pig skin (the equivalent of an official football) in six minutes to win the MLE Pigskin Eating Championships at the Hawaiian Tropic Zone in NYC's Times Square today. For his effort, Eater X took home $2,500 and a Super Bowl XLII Football signed by Giants legend Sean Landetta.

The event, which promoted Sunday's Major League Eating Halftime Special on Spike TV, drew a number of Patriots fans including eaters Pete Davekos and Crazy Legs Conti. Despite the presence of Pats supporters, five Hawaiian Tropic Zone models guaranteed a Giants victory on Sunday.

Russ Keeler placed second and Crazy Legs Conti came in third. Beautiful Brian, Nasty Nate, Mierns and Brickhouse Braunstein also competed.

MLE's Chowdown Championships will be on Spike during halftime on Feb. 3, 2007. According the today's contest host, the show "is a strong family friendly option considering Mr. Tom Petty often celebrates drug use in his songs."
