Carl's Jr. Low-Carb Six-Dollar Burger

Carl.s Jr. will present the first-ever Six-Dollar Burger eating contest in Los Angeles on January 27, 2004. The event will consist of two competitive eating teams, one representing USC and one representing UCLA.

Hungry Charles Hardy reportedly will captain an amateur USC eating squad and Sonya Thomas will captain a team of first-time eaters from UCLA.

The contest, which will feature the new low-carb, half-pound Carl.s Jr. Six-Dollar Burger, will take place at the famed Pauley Pavilion at UCLA. The captain of the winning team will go home with $1,000 and the glory associated with the Carl's Jr. low-carb title.

Hungry Charles Hardy, considered the Godfather of competitive eating, is the world shrimp and cabbage-eating champion. Sonya Thomas secured multiple titles in 2003 . her rookie year on the IFOCE circuit . including fruitcake, tacos and hardboiled eggs.
