Bertoletti Chock full O'Nuts

Competitiveeatingnews.com reports that Patrick Bertoletti won the Chock full O'Nuts World Date Nut Bread Eating Championship held today at Madison Square Garden, the world's most famous arena.

Bertoletti, a Chicagoan who holds ice cream, chocolate and key lime pie titles, consumed 29 date nut bread sandwiches in eight minutes. He led second-place finisher Joey Chestnut throughout the contest. Chestnut consumed 26 sandwiches for second place and Humble Bob ate 18 3/4 for third place.

Juliet Lee finished an impressive fifth in the field of ten eaters that included Bill Myers, Justin Mih, and Arturo Rios Grande.

The contest was overseen by Hungry Charles Hardy and Beautiful Brian was on hand to film the event.

When asked what he wants for Christmas, competitor Crazy Legs Conti replied "Joey Chestnut's two front teeth."
