Ham for Seaver

12-11-2006

Seaver Miller, the 10th-ranked eater in the World, will look to set a ham-eating record on Friday, December 15th.

Miller’s record attempt is part of the Stevens and Medley Morning Show Holiday Special, which will air live on 94.7 in Washington, DC from 6-10 a.m.

The annals of ham eating catalog Ed Cookie Jarvis (retired ’05) who ate six pounds of ham and mashed potatoes at the legendary if ill-attended Easter Feaster contest in Pasco, Washington on April 18, 2003. It was a 12-minute contest and the ham represented three pounds of Jarvis’ total intake. Ray the Bison Meduna (retired ’05) placed second in Pasco that day.

Despite being ranked 10th on the IFOCE circuit, Miller has no world records to his credit. He has performed well in his rookie year, capturing a spot on the money list in the Lewisville Tamale-Eating Championship and earning wild-card berth to the Krystal Square-Off III.

When asked about his recent 9th place finish at the Tropicana Meatball-Eating World Championship, Miller said: “The high flying Colts, Pats & Cowboys all lost this weekend. Things happen in sports.”

Miller’s attempt will occur live during Stevens and Medley's 8 a.m. hour, and will be simulcast on various CBS Radio affiliates across the country. Miller will have five-minutes to eat as much ham as he can.
