Competitive Eating Stalwart Allen Goldstein Wins to Earn Seat at Coney

Allen "The Shredder" Goldstein consumed a personal best of 21.5 HDBs to take the LI Ducks Nathan's Famous qualifier and earn a seat at the table on July 4. Goldstein competed with 11 other eaters (including the sister of semi-retired Leon Justice Feingold) in the concession area of Citibank Park.

The game was rained out, but the contest continued. Kevin Basso ate 13 to place second. Cookie Jarvis attended and served as head official judge.
