Eaters Prep for GoldenPalace.net Ice Cream Match

On the eve of Memorial Day weekend, eaters will vie for the world ice cream title at the GoldenPalace.net World Ice Cream-Eating Championship. The eight-minute, all-you-can-eat contest will take place at the Water Club on the East River in Manhattan and will feature Brooklyn Ice Cream.

Pat from Moonachie, Don Moses Lerman, Bob Shoudt, Brian Seiken, Pat Bertoletti, Eater X and Crazy Legs Conti are expected to attend. Ron Koch, who has reportedly eaten three gallons of ice cream in 13 minutes, is unable to attend. Cookie Jarvis, record holder in a 12-minute contest, recently retired, so the field is wide open.
