Broadway at the Beach, But no Boone

Dale Boone has won the Broadway at the Beach Eating Tournament each of the past two years, but the cherubic trash talker will not defend his title in 2006 due to the fact that he is in India producing Hindi music videos.

This means that the annual springtime classic, which occurs in sunny Myrtle Beach during the Taste of Broadway, is anybody's game. The tournament consists of three speedy elimination rounds and a final head-to-head contest, a steeplechase of sorts.

Each year Myrtle Beach's top restaurants present the foods that are eaten in competition. In the past, Broadway at the Beach has presented eaters with dishes ranging from shrimp to frozen custard.

This year's foods are yet to be determined, but the date is set for Saturday, April 22nd at Broadway at the Beach's Celebrity Square.

There is $500 on the line and all registration is being handled by the IFOCE.
