Tropicana Meatball Eating Championship at Carmine's

With the Thanksgiving Invitational in the books, the eyes of America's top eaters are now turn to Atlantic City in New Jersey, where the Tropicana will hold the World Meatball Eating Championship at Carmine's restaurant.

The 12-minute, all-you-can-eat event, which will take place on December 3, 2005 at 1 PM, will feature arch rivals Sonya Thomas (reigning champion) and Joey Chestnut (fast-rising rookie).

Also on the scene will be Bob Shoudt, Kevin Lipsitz, Bubba Yarbrough, Tim Janus, Brian Seiken, among others.

A total of $5,000 in prize money is on the line.
