Road Report: 6/25/05

Carlene LeFevre took the June 25th Nathan's Famous Atlanta qualifier by consuming 23 Nathan's HDBs in 12 minutes. The outspoken and outeaten Dale Boone struggled during the competition, so much so that he forced George Shea to utter the words "Elvis has left the building." Carlene's 23 is an Atlanta record.

In the sweltering heat of Lancaster, PA, Brian Subich, Brian Seiken and Tim Janus swarmed over the Rockvale Outlets Shoo Fly Pie Eating Championship. Janus came out the victor with six pounds of the regional treat followed by Subich and a crumb-laden Seiken.

Later in the evening, Leon Feingold took the field at Citibank Park in Central Islip Long Island for the Nathan's LI Ducks qualifier. Oleg, the Great Z was also there as was Ed Cookie Jarvis as first alternate. Cookie led Oleg by just under a dog for the duration and then took the win with an impressive 24. Oleg took second and an eager, if travel weary, Patrick Bertoletti of Chicago place third with 17 1/2.
