Chinook Winds World Rib Eating Championship

The Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, OR, will hold the 2005 Chinook Winds World Rib Eating Championship on July 17, 2005 at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. A total of $2,750 in prize money and the title of World Rib Eating Champion will be on the line.
The rib eating title previously has been was won in 2004 by Richard LeFevre of Nevada and in 2003 by Cookie Jarvis of New York. LeFevre, who is looking ot up his personal best of 27 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, NY, will travel to Lincoln City to defend his title.
“The rib, the most elegant of the debris foods, presents a distinct challenge to all eaters,” said George Shea, chairman of the IFOCE. “This event requires jaw strength, stomach capacity and sturdy orthodonture.”
The Chinook Winds Casino is located at 1777 NW 44th Street in Lincoln City, OR. The eating extravaganza is part of the Chinook Winds’ “Smokin’ at the Ocean” food festival. There are spots available for the world championship and for an amateur contest on Saturday, July 16. This is an IFOCE event and the IFOCE will handle all registration.
