Carlene Conquers Sky City Posole Title

Carlene LeFevre of Henderson, NV, consumed a whopping 109.75-ounces of posole in 12 minutes to conquer the Sky City Casino World Posole Eating Championship in Acoma, NM.
With the win, Carlene has added a world title to her belt and took home $777 in cash and $1,300 famous Acoma pottery.
Rich "The Locust" LeFevre, Carlene's husband and training partner, captured second place by eating 96.25-ounces of posole ($500 cash, $750 pottery). Local, regional champ Aurelio Gonzalez ($350 cash, $500 pottery) rounded out third with 71.5-ounces of posole, and in a close 4th was Randy Harrison of Texas with 71.25-ounces ($250 cash, $350 pottery).
Posole is a stew made from water-soaked corn kernels with pork, chili and seasonings.
