Sky City Casino Posole Eating Contest

The World Posole Eating Championship, sponsored by the Sky City Casino, will be held in Acoma, NM, on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at 3 PM. Posole is a stew made from water-soaked corn kernels with pork, chili and seasonings.

Purses for the 12-minute contest will include cash prizes and an assortment of world famous Acoma pottery, making it likely that some of the circuit’s most refined gurgitators will compete.

The value of cash and fine art will be broken down as follows:

First Place: $2,077.00 ($777 cash, $1,300 pottery) Second Place: $1,250.00 ($500 cash, $750 pottery) Third Place: $850.00 ($350 cash, $500 pottery) Fourth Place: $600.00 ($250 cash, $350 pottery) Fifth Place: $400.00 ($150 cash, $250 pottery)
