Krystal To Issue Final Wild Card For Championship
11-02-2004
The Krystal Company announced plans today to allow a final wild card birth in the Nov. 13th Krystal World Hamburger Championship in Chattanooga, TN, at which $17,500.00 in prize money will be on the line.
The wild card winner will be the eater who, at the preliminary circuit’s end, has eaten the most Krystals in any preliminary contest without winning. Currently this distinction goes to Cade Hardin, with 30 Krystals.
Lynn Curley already holds a wild card for his regulation time-period tie with Cookie Jarvis, in which both gurgitators devoured 33 Krystals. Curly then declined an overtime tie-breaker, fearing his performance would result an incident that falls outside the boundaries of both athletic and social good taste.
