Boone Tops Jarvis in 84 Lumber Bean Event

Dale Boone delivered a masterful come-from-behind victory to beat Cookie Jarvis in Summerville, SC, at the kick-off of the 84 Lumber baked bean eating contest circuit.

Boone consumed 84 ounces, just more than 5 pounds, of baked beans in 1 minute 52 seconds, with Jarvis only one second behind. Jarvis had an early lead but was distracted as he tried to clean up the beans scattered across his tin. Boone finished with incredible speed, just edging out the big man.

In third place was a promising local Tim Bertch, a huge mountain of a man, who completed his beans in 2 minutes 40 seconds. Ronald Floyd came in fourth, eating his beans in just more than 3 minutes.
