Dinner For Two: LeFevres Devour 68 Krystal Hamburgers in Macon Qualifier

Rich 'The Locust' LeFevre kept his string of strong gustatory performances intact yesterday by polishing off 38 Krstal Hamburgers in eight minutes to win an official qualifying contest of the 2004 Krsytal World Hamburger Eating Championship.

Coming in second place with an impressive 30 Krystals in eight minutes was Carlene LeFevre, the #7 ranked eater in the world and arguably the most demure gurgitator on the IFOCE circuit.

The total of 68 Krystals eaten by the LeFevres is believed to be the most hamburgers ever consumed by man and wife during an eight minute period.

The Locust's mark represents the second highest total from the Krystal circuit thus far, falling short only of Sonya Thomas' 42 Krystals in eight minutes on Sept. 6, 2004.

Cade Hardin, a relative unknown in competitive eating circles when the circuit began, continued to raise eyebrows by placing third with 26 Krystals.
