LeFevre in Melon Match

Rich LeFevre continued his eating dominance in Ohio, winning the "Swellin' with Melon" watermelon eating contest at the Brookville Community Picnic by downing 11.22 pounds of melon in 15 minutes. His wife, the lovely Carlene LeFevre, took second place with 9.7 pounds. At stake was $1,000.

Beautiful Brian Seiken, whose eating circuit stature has risen significantly in the past several months with performances in pickles and chicken nuggets, consumed a total of 8 pounds to place third.

While easy to eat, melon is considered a difficult category, especially in a 15 minute contest. Many of the competitors were forced to push back from the table prior to the conculsion of the event.

Rich and Carlene LeFevre, ranked fifth and ninth in the world, have wowed crowds with their slender physiques and voracious hunger. The couple have competed side-by-side in chili, SPAM and Nathan's Famous hot dogs.
