Breeden Sets World Cheese Curd-Eating Record!
08-13-2018
West Allis, WI! Take a bow, Darron Breeden. The man from Orange, VA, ate 5lb, 2oz of cheese curds over six minutes to win the Wisconsin State Fair World Cheese Curd Eating Championship. In doing so, he set a world record in the discipline. This is the first certified and sanctioned eating record to his name. One imagines that it will not be the last.
Not if you witnessed Breeden’s incredible performance at the table on this day. He was smooth and clean throughout the contest, pausing only briefly when he needed to partake of his liquids. He came to Wisconsin to win. And that is what he did. Perhaps in his journal he referred to the state as “Winsconsin.” If he did so, who are we to judge? The road to victory starts with positive visualization. If an eater doesn’t see himself or herself as a winner, how will anyone else? It’s okay to dream of success, to see the future in terms that suit you. That said, Anthony Robbins probably can’t eat half a pound of cheese curds, no matter what his goals and mind’s eye postulate. Even with that giant set of teeth of his.
But we digress. Breeden. This day is his. And no-one can take that away from him. He should feel the pride swelling in his boots.
