GIDEON OJI TAKES THE 2021 BUFFALO BUFFET BOWL!
Great news! The Buffalo Buffet Bowl returns once more to Major League Eating's annual schedule of eating championships. As is tradition, this year's contest will take place on the Saturday evening during The National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival—our republic's annual celebration of the Buffalo wing and the Buffalo wing-centered lifestyle. It is a welcome return home for wing enthusiasts after last year’s postponement.
This year’s Wingfest will take place at a new location—Highmark Stadium, home of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. The contest will be held on the main stage at the 50-yard line. Eaters will enter the arena from the same tunnel that Bills heroes such as Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith and Josh Allen—even JP Losman—did and do so before games. This marks a major step forward for one of the world’s truly great food festivals, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this very year.
The Buffalo Buffet Bowl is a celebration of Buffalo Cuisine. In years past, the event has seen the world's greatest eaters tackle an array of Buffalo Cuisine favorites, such as chicken strips, beef on weck and Buffalo-style pizza. Discerning palettes all agree that Buffaloanian cuisine is among the finest in the world. And word to the Grubhubs and Seamlesses of the world: We see "Chinese," "Mexican," "Pizza," and even "Salad" on the cuisine-options pulldown menu, but we still do not see "Buffaloanian." You can fix that.
