Nela Zisser

By the tender age of 23, Ms Nela Zisser—she of Christchurch, on the south isle of New Zealand—had represented her great nation as Miss Earth, worked as a commercial fashion model, commenced university studies towards a Bachelor of Science degree and competed in the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. She has packed so much living in such a short space of time one wonders how the remainder of her days will match up. We imagine they will be filled with eating a lot of food very quickly. On debut at the 2015 Nathan's Famous Ladies' Championship, Ms Zisser ate 16 hot dogs and buns to place seventh. In post-content comments, she remarked how much more satisfying and robust—read, tough to eat a lot fast—the Nathan's Famous hot dog and bun is compared to their paltry New Zealand counterparts. There is no shame, New Zealand, in having inferior hot dogs to those found at the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in Brooklyn, NY. None can compare. This is an apples to oranges scenario. Coney Island, for example, produces inferior Sauvignon Blancs to those from your land. It's all good. Before becoming a Major League Eater, Ms Zisser ate a five-pound burrito in under five minutes and a five foot-long sandwiches in under 10 minutes.
