Bacci World Pizza Eating Championship

06-01-2004

The world’s finest competitive eaters will converge in Chicago, IL, on Saturday, June 19, 2004 for the Bacci World Pizza Eating Championship. On the line will be the $2,500 in prize money, and the ultra-prestigious title of World Pizza Eating Champion.

Established in 1996, Bacci Pizzeria is family owned and operated by the DiDana Family. The original Bacci Pizzeria is located in the heart of Chicago's Little Italy on Taylor Street. Bacci Pizzeria offers homestyle cooking at reasonable prices. The pizza dough and pizza sauce are made fresh daily with only the best ingredients, and of course, Bacci’s very own recipes.

The field of gurgitators, representing the finest in IFOCE talent, will be headlined by Ed ‘Cookie’ Jarvis. Jarvis set an American record of 30½ hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes at the 2003 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest in Coney, Island, NY. Other top American eaters are expected to participate in this highly anticipated match.

The Bacci World Pizza Eating Championship is an IFOCE-sanctioned event and the IFOCE will handle all registration. Only those over the age of 18 who are pre-registered with the IFOCE will be allowed to participate (email pizza@ifoce.com or call (212) 627-5766 to register). Additional prizes include a television, a five-disk DVD player, two SONY Walkmans and two skateboards.
