Chesnut, Kobayashi Clash in Pizza Hut P'Zone Chow-lenge
World hot dog-eating champion Joey Chestnut and arch-rival Takeru Kobayashi will face off on Saturday, May 30, 2009, in one of the greatest battle of their careers: The Pizza Hut PíZone Chow-lenge.
Kobayashi, an eating phenom who shocked the world in 2001 by eating 50 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes, dominated the sport of eating for six years until he was toppled by Chestnut, an upstart rookie from San Jose, CA. Chestnut is now the number-one-ranked eater in the world with dozens of titles to his name, but he has never faced Kobayashi in the PíZone discipline.
The Pizza Hut PíZone Chow-lenge is a five-minute all-you-can-eat event focusing exclusively on the PíZone, a one-pound pizza with abundant ingredients sealed inside a 12Ē crust. The event will place at the Sony Studios in Los Angeles and portions of the contest will be broadcast on the Spike TV Guys Choice awards in June.
