Black Widow Takes Acme Oyster Eating Match

Sonya Thomas won the Acme Oyster-Eating Contest in New Orleans Saturday, consuming 29 dozens oysters in 10 minutes to beat a field of 15 professional and amateur eaters. Patrick Bertoletti ate 26 dozen oysters to place second while Eater X downed 22 dozen for third place.

The event, which featured the marriage of a couple from chicago and an oyster shucking contest in front of a crowd of 3,000, was the highlight of the French Quarter Fest.
