Lulu's Mardis Gras Crawfish

02-02-2004

The IFOCE will run a Mardis Gras Crawfish Jambalaya Eating Chmapionship at Lulu's Club Mardi Gras in Washington, DC, on February 24, 2004. The winner of the multi-round elimination event will receive a trip to New Orleans, including lodging and airfare.

Rising star Sonya Thomas, who lives in nearby Alexandria, VA, is expected to attend this contest. But eating vets do not necessarily predict a victory -- Thomas is known for enormous quantity while crawfish require a highly skilled eating technique.

IFOCE circuit eaters such as New Orleans' own Boyd Bulot and Crawfish Nick Stipelkovich might have a better shot at such a title. Debris food specialists Crazy Legs Conti, Don Moses Lerman and Kevin Lipsitz also may excel in this event.

The event will serve as the highlight of Lulu's Mardi Gras celebration, which will run the afternoon and evening of February 24 at Lulu's, 1217 22nd Street NW in Washington, DC.

Those interested in further detail may email the IFOCE. Additional information will be sent to those on the IFOCE eaters list.
