Road Report: Vegas

05-04-2007

Pat Bertoletti continues to earn his keep as the #3 eater in the world. On May 3 in Vegas, the young culinary graduate from Chicago ate an amazing 46 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes, securing his place in the 4th of July contest in Coney Island.

Behind Pat in second place was Rich "The Locust" LeFevre with a personal best of 33 HDB's. This was a fantastic achievement for LeFevre as he continues to prove that he is still a force to be reckoned with at the competition table.

With numbers like these, it should prove to be a very interesting year for the Americans. Bertoletti is the second Major League Eater to qualify this year. Chip Simpson ate 39.25 HDB's in Sunrise, FL to earn his seat. The next qualifier will be on May 19 in E. Hartford, CT.
