Conti Returns to Louisiana for WOW Café & Wingery Event

11-13-2006

Crazy Legs Conti will return to Louisiana to conduct a wing-eating clinic prior to the WOW Wingman Amateur Wing Eating Competition at the WOW Café and Wingery in Covington.

The former Louisiana Oyster Eating Champion is familiar with the area, having competed in three Big Easy Eat Offs and also in an oyster-eating contest prior to the 2004 Sugar Bowl.

“I am excited to visit the WOW Café and Wingery to enjoy its New Orleans inspired menu and pass on a few wing tricks like the umbrella method,” said Conti. “I also look forward to catching up with some of my friends in this region, which is full of spirit despite the incredible difficulties stemming from the hurricanes.”

He’s sure to be welcomed with open arms. In October of 2005, Conti hosted an “I Love NOLA” benefit in New York City that raised thousands of dollars for Katrina Relief. The bulk of the funds went to charities serving Louisiana’s fishing communities. Conti also put together a separate fund to purchase instruments and amps for the Eddie Simons, a Lakeview-area band that lost everything in the disaster.

The WOW Wingman Amateur Wing Eating Competition will occur at 7pm on Thursday, November 16th at the WOW Café and Wingery in Creekstone Village on Highway 21 in Covington, LA. For more information regarding this chain of fun, casual, all-American cafés visit www.wingery.com .
