Bertoletti to Chattanooga

Patrick Bertoletti, of Chicago, IL, set a new Knoxville area Krystal hamburger-eating record today, devouring 48 of the fast food icon’s famous hamburgers in eight minutes at the Knoxville Qualifier for the Krystal Square Off III World Hamburger Eating Championship.

This win secures Bertoletti a seat in the ESPN-televised Krystal Square Off III World Hamburger Eating Championship Final on October 28, 2006.

At the World Championship Final the top eaters from the regional qualifiers will battle it out for one of competitive eating’s most coveted titles and a piece of the unprecedented $30,000 cash prize purse. The winner this year will receive a $10,000 cash prize along with the coveted Krystal Square Off World Champion's Belt and the Champion's Trophy made out of crystal. The runner-up and third place finishers will take home an increased paycheck of $7,500 and $3,500 respectively. The remaining top ten finalists will receive payouts ranging from $2,000 to $300.
