Seaver the Achiever to Coney

Competitive Eating newcomer Seaver Miller edged out accomplished veteran Jim Reeves in the QVC Nathan's Famous Qualifier today in West Chester, PA. Seaver consumed 21 Nathan's Famous HDBs to Reeves' 20.5. In third place was Steakbellie with 19.

The incredibly exciting contest took place at the QVC studios and nearly 400 people watched the event during their lunch break.

Seaver is a rookie out of the crab cake circuit who competed in his first Nathan's Famous contest in Norfolk this year, finishing with 18.

While Reeves didn't anticipate this upset, he did register for the Molly Pitcher qualifier that occurs in New Jersey tomorrow. It's a must win situation for Reeves as he is not registered for the Ducks, San Francisco or Zoo Atlanta, all events that take place on Saturday.

Seaver, who is married, accepted the trophy graciously and was later seen contemplating a purchase from QVC's jewelery department. The Epiphany Platinum Clad Diamonique Baguette Tennis Bracelet (shown) is currently offered at for just $103.92.
