MLE Thanksgiving Invitational at Hand

Joey Chestnut, arguably the most promising rookie eater of all time, will join rising star Bob Shoudt and veterans including Cookie Jarvis and Sonya Thomas at tomorrow’s Thanksgiving Invitational. The contest will feature entire roast turkeys and top finishers will share $5,000 in prize money.

The Thanksgiving Invitational comes at a time when people throughout America gather to express their gratitude along with family and friends. Most mark the celebration with a large meal befitting an abundant harvest, but it is important to note that many in our country struggle with hunger on a daily basis. This Thanksgiving, through Food P.A.T.C.H., the and the IFOCE will provide complete holiday meals for 20 families of four who would otherwise go without a Thanksgiving dinner.

A certified affiliate of Second Harvest, the mission of Food P.A.T.C.H. (People Allied to Combat Hunger) is to alleviate hunger and minimize food waste in Westchester County, New York. Food P.A.T.C.H.'s function is soliciting, storing, sorting and distributing a steady supply of good quality food to Westchester's emergency food programs, and to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering the community.
