Poe Wins Life on a Stick Contest

Newcomers showed promise in the Veggie on a Stick Amateur Eating Challenge, but the professionals showed them how it's done.

The contest was held at Hollywood & Highland Wednesday to celebrate the series premiere of the new FOX comedy LIFE ON A STICK. Los Angeles resident Mike Poe took home the grand prize $2,500 Home Entertainment Center by eating 8-1/4 veggie sticks in six minutes.

The results were a close call for second and third with Toshio Suzuki eating 7-7/8 veggie sticks and Bashar with 7-3/4 in six minutes.

Top-ranked husband and wife team Rich and Carlene LeFevre set the bar with an exhibition round. Rich downed 14 and Carlene managed 12-1/2.

LIFE ON A STICK airs on FOX on Thursday, March 24 @ 9:30 p.m. following American Idol.
