Eating Contest Crusaders

10-22-2004

IFOCE eaters hit the road this weekend for a number of different contests in the Southeast. Rookie Tim Janus and Buffalo Jim Reeves fly to Florida from New York City and Buffalo for the 84 Lumber baked bean eating match in Deland, FL, where they will face off against Florida champion Joe LaRue in a hotly contested bout.

Meanwhile, Eric Badlands Booker flies to Atlanta, GA, for the 84 Lumber baked bean eating contest in Dawsonville, GA. Cade Hardin of Huntsville, AL, will travel to Dawsonville on Saturday and return home to defend the hometown honor at the Krystal Square Off contest in Mobile, Al, on Sunday.

Not to be outdone, LaRue will also be in Mobile for the Krystal event, hoping to secure a seat in the November 17 championship in Chattanooga, TN. LaRue is known as a fiercely independent and self-reliant eater, and he is making a bid to improve his already impressive ranking as the world's number 8 ranked competitive eater. Reeves is also showing his competitive nature and his quickly improving skills in the sport.
