MLE SCOUTS ANALYZE PRETZEL TWISTER
Here’s a few scout comments and predictions surrounding January 20th in Miami:
Even though they’re soft and tasty, these pretzels will be difficult to eat in competition. Eaters will drink lots of liquid and this will decrease their stomach capacity. A hot beverage could give eaters an edge, but the numbers won’t exceed the mid 20's.
Sonya and Joey will have the best shot of winning since they have greater capacity and swallowing ability than Humble Bob. But, if Humble is focused and eats clean, he may spark another upset as he’s stepped his game up tremendously in the past year. If Dale's on his A game, he could beat Jammin Joe, who, in my opinion, is best at foods requiring jaw strength like corn, wings, and pickles.
CRAZY LEGS CONTI:
Sonya’s hand/mouth speed is unparalleled. I see her working pretzels in the left hand and a cup in the right. She'll be there at the buzzer for the win.
Shoudt has the jaw strength and, two weeks from Wing Bowl, this will be the event where he morphs from "Humble Bob" to "Hubris Bob". Look for him to jaw Joey with some trash talk and judges can expect a monstrous three-pretzel stuff at the buzzer. He’ll place.
Chestnut can’t rest on his laurels. He's got the capacity and can rock the big stage, but can he endear the crowd at more intimate venues? He could use a win and I could use the return of the "Call me Joseph" days. Expect hot water to be his beverage choice but Sonya and Bob will follow suit. Show.
Jammin Joe’s best bet is to hand the Florida crown to Hall Hunt. He's using Pretzels to keep his name in the papers as build up to LaRue/Conti II at the Sunrise Nathan's qualifier. He’ll be sipping Axia-3 at the eight-minute mark.
