The series, produced by the IFOCE, featured the world’s best eaters, including number one-ranked Takeru Kobayashi of Japan, the number-two-ranked Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas of Virginia, Sam Vise of Tennesee and 29 other elites who competed for a total of $40,000 in prize money and the coveted Alka-Seltzer Cup. The tournament will air again on ESPN and ESPN2.

The event was called by ESPN's Paul Page, IFOCE Chair George Shea and IFOCE President Richard Shea. IFOCE Commissioner Charles Hardy judged the tournament, which was held at the ESPN Zone in Las Vegas, NV.
